ATEX Pumps

ATEX-certified pumps for explosive atmospheres

For the dispensing or transfer of petrol, or in environments where there is a risk of potentially explosive atmospheres, operating safety is essential. Gespasa meets this need with its range of pumps certified in accordance with the ATEX Directive, offering the highest level of protection without compromising performance or reliability.

The IRON 50 Ex model, available in 230 V versions as well as 12 V or 24 VDC, retains the recognised features of the IRON 50 family — efficient self-priming, self-adjusting vanes and a flow rate of approximately 50 l/min — but is specifically adapted with explosionproof housings to ensure completely safe operation in explosive atmospheres. This adaptation reinforces the robustness of the original design, while maintaining its effectiveness for demanding applications.

On the other hand, the AG 800 is a powerful pump that also meets the strictest ATEX standards. Its design incorporates an advanced technical assembly: self-priming, self-adjusting vanes, recirculation bypass system and a remarkable performance of up to 80 l/min. The unit is prepared to operate continuously, with a suction capacity of up to 2.7 m, so it requires no priming.

These pumps not only ensure operational continuity under extreme conditions, but also extend component service life, thanks to their specific explosionproof construction and a design intended to withstand hostile environments. The Gespasa ATEX range represents a perfect balance between safety, hydraulic power and durability, making these pumps an optimal choice for areas where technical requirements and strict safety regulations come together.

IRON 50 Ex ATEX Pump

The IRON 50 Ex is the explosionproof evolution of the IRON 50 model, a pump widely recognised in the sector for its reliability, efficiency and compact design. This version has been specially developed for its installation in classified areas with an explosion risk, fully complying with the requirements of the ATEX Directive, which guarantees safe operation in flammable or potentially explosive atmospheres, such as those found in the petrochemical industry, hydrocarbon distribution plants or logistics environments handling fuels.

Ideal for dispensing petrol to vehicles or machinery.

At the heart of the IRON 50 Ex remains its self-adjusting vane system, based on the positive displacement principle. This technology makes it possible to maintain a stable and continuous flow rate of up to 50 litres per minute, even when there are pressure variations in the line or demanding operating conditions. In addition, its self-priming capacity facilitates system start-up without the need for manual priming, making it a practical option both for new installations and for upgrades in industrial environments.

Unlike the standard version, the IRON 50 Ex is manufactured with special materials and electrical components protected against deflagration, designed to prevent the generation of sparks or temperature rises that could pose a risk in classified areas such as Zone 1 or Zone 2, according to the ATEX classification system. This level of protection makes the pump suitable for a wide variety of flammable liquids, including diesel and petrol.

It can be connected by thread or flanges, which facilitates maintenance, the replacement of parts and compatibility with accessories such as filters, meters and Gespasa controllers.

The IRON 50 Ex has become a benchmark for those professionals who need to combine certified safety with high hydraulic performance. Its adaptability, its regulatory compliance and its reliable performance position it as a strategic solution for applications where operating safety is a priority, without sacrificing transfer efficiency or ease of use.

AG 800 ATEX Pump

The AG 800 is an electric vane pump specially designed to operate in atmospheres with an explosion risk, complying with the strict requirements of the ATEX Directive for classified areas. Its robust architecture, together with a high flow capacity and proven mechanical reliability, make it an ideal solution for petrol dispensing or in critical industrial applications where safety is non-negotiable.

Designed for dispensing petrol to vehicles or machinery. It can also operate in complex environments such as refineries, fuel distribution facilities, chemical plants, aviation depots or centralised supply systems, the AG 800 combines efficient transfer technology with advanced ignition protection. Both its motor and its metal housing are designed to contain and isolate any possible source of sparks or excessive heat, thus ensuring safe operation even in the presence of flammable vapours or volatile liquids.

At hydraulic level, the pump is based on a positive displacement system by means of self-adjusting vanes, which guarantees a constant, pulse-free and highly efficient flow. Thanks to this technology, the AG 800 can maintain a continuous flow rate of up to 80 litres per minute, with self-priming capacity and excellent response to pressure variations. This sustained performance allows its intensive use in continuous operations, without compromising system stability or the safety of operators.

The pump body is built with materials resistant to corrosion and mechanical wear, which extends its service life and reduces the need for frequent maintenance. In addition, its integration into industrial installations is straightforward, thanks to its 1” threaded connection or flanges, making it easy to connect to flow meters and other accessories.

The AG 800 represents a comprehensive solution for the safe transfer of fuels and other flammable liquids in ATEX areas. It offers the peace of mind of a certified unit, the performance of a professional pump and the quality guarantee that characterises all Gespasa products.
